Coach Sarah D'Avy, M.S.

“Ripped” and “shredded” are not words to describe Sarah D’Avy.  Strong, determined, and disciplined, however, are. Having had 2 c-sections, diastasis recti of the abdominal wall and hormonal imbalances, getting the 6 pack abs just wasn’t going to happen.  Seeing past these challenges, Sarah has since developed an undeniable passion for helping others along their health and fitness journey, but she actually started her career life in the finance industry, post getting her master’s degree.

While working with people as a financial advisor, Sarah started on a path to healthy living. She joined a church small group that got together 3 times a week to workout, HIIT style (High Intensity Interval Training). This sparked the desire to lose weight and eat healthy, so she found a healthy eating program and lost 45 pounds over the course of a year. During this time, she realized that she would rather help people with their physical health than their financial health.

She started coaching people through healthy weight loss and racked up some certifications along the way. She obtained 4 Pilates certifications and worked at a local Pilates studio for several years…this is where she fell in love with group fitness classes. A friend encouraged her to try indoor cycling. Well…believe it or not, she hated the first class! Never passing up on a good “freebie”, she went to the remaining free classes offered and got hooked. She signed up as a member, then decided to take a shot at becoming an instructor herself. Sarah got certified as a cycle instructor in 2022 and has loved coaching people through challenging rides to some upbeat music ever since…a party on a bike!

Sarah has had the dream of combining Pilates, Indoor Cycling, Yoga, and Stretch classes in one boutique fitness studio for more than 5 years.  Her dream came true when she opened The Movement Lafayette on April 8, 2024! Along with the grace and provisions of God, her dream is now a reality. You can find her teaching private Pilates and Stretch classes during the day and teaching group classes in the evenings. Her hope is that you “come home” to The Movement Lafayette and feel valued, loved, and appreciated, then leave feeling accomplished, strong, and motivated!
